The cab stopped in front of the local hospital, in the little U-turn of the Emergency Room. I sighed impatiently and shifted Emma to my right arm. She was still crying but not as severe as before because her little body was warming up. I rummaged through the little crutch I was holding and threw a dollar bill as him. "Keep the change," I said, flying out of the cab, holding Emma close to my chest covering her from the harsh rain that was falling. When I entered the ER, I knew people instantly recognized me, being that some of them bowed their heads. How cute. My eyes scanned the room for the reception desk and once I spotted it, my feet moved evenly at a quick pace. "Excuse me! I need your help. Something is wrong with her!" I said, gesturing towards the baby in my arms. The nurse looked up at her desk and her eyes widened, recognizing me. I knew she had many questions as to why I would be here out of all places but she went straight into work mode. "Why do you believe something is wrong with her?" I had to wait a second or so to answer. I wasn't going to tell the truth that I found her in a cemetery. "She is not eating and she won't stop crying." It was a little white lie. It wouldn't hurt anyone. "How is she related to you Madame?" My heart thumped in my chest as the words flew out of my mouth, "She is my daughter! Who do you think she is?" "But I thought your daughter had passed away Ma-" I sighed in frustration being that I had not gotten the help Emma needed yet ...
